The PSC chairman described complaints of gross misconduct against police officers as “alarming”, adding that going by the number of cases against its personnel, the force might be unable “to pay damages awarded by the various panels of inquiry”.
It would be recalled that the applicant on April 18, 2020, during the national COVID-19 lockdown, was grievously dehumanised and publicly assaulted by NPF officers who were identified as Inspector Taiwo and Constable Abass Ibrahim.
The police letter is titled, ‘Re: Criminal Petition Against Apostle Johnson Suleman for Enticement of a Married Woman; Adultery; Unlawful Criminal Restraint to Access Children and Threat to Life’.

Part of the items destroyed are; the Area Command and the Divisional Headquarters fences/gates, Area Command and Divisional Headquarters signposts, about 40 window glasses, four vehicles parked at the station and the roof of a building close to the station among others.
The statement, titled: ‘NPF new tactical team commences training Monday, October 19’, stated, “Adamu reiterated that no personnel of the defunct SARS would be part of the SWAT, noting that the officers selected for the training are young, smart and energetic officers who have acquired not less than seven years working experience with clean service records – no pending disciplinary matters, no record of violation of rights of citizens or misuse of firearms.”
In a statement on Tuesday, Frank Mba, force spokesman, said the IGP had ordered all personnel of the disbanded SARS to report at force headquarters in Abuja for debriefing
In moving the application for the final forfeiture of the properties, counsel to the applicant, Nnaemeka Omewa, told Justice Mohammed Liman, that the properties were acquired with a loan obtained from Guaranty Trust Bank and paid back by money suspected to have been diverted from the coffers of the Kwara State government.
