Osun APC chieftain, 100 others, defect to PDP

The party chairman, Hon. Sefiu Apesin while receiving the defectors hailed their foresight in coming into the PDP fold, assured them that their interest would be highly protected and further urged them to be of good conduct both to the party and the community at large.

In the build up of the next gubernatorial election in Osun State, leadership of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), in Iwo, Osun state has on Wednesday, April 28 welcomed not fewer than 100 APC members led by Sodiq Allan Ball to its fold.

According to Sefiu Oladipupo, Director of Media, The Pathfinder Team, a group in PDP stated the the effort of the leadership of the Pathfinder Team in Iwo local government to reconcile aggrieved members in Iwo PDP and also woo new members from other parties has yielded positive results. The Team recorded yet another achievement today as not less 100 members of a group renounced their loyalty to APC in Iwo local government to join PDP.

Sodiq Allan Ball is an household name in Iwo politics, not only for his large number of followers but for his “Street Credibility”.

Allan Ball led hundreds of his followers today to formalize his moves in joining PDP and publicly renounce his membership and loyalty of APC.

Allan Ball and his team has earlier declared their support for Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke and PDP at the fortnight general meeting of the Pathfinder Team where they were received by Pathfinder coordinator, Mr. Musilimu Saheed and directed them to make their defection formal by declaring at the local government party’s meeting.

In his remarks, Mr. Sodiq and the leader of the group stated they opted to decamp from APC to PDP having noticed APC has no plan for the youths other to use them for election violence.

He said, the time of using youths to disrupt election has gone and all the rigging tactics of the APC would be resisted in the coming elections.
