The complex pseudo-intelligence surrounding the much perverted understanding of Shariah has created nuances for the Islamic justice system. And has, however displeasing it often recurs, coined an ill, homegrown version of the penal system and a peculiarity only obtainable in the northern Nigeria and supported by the regiments of the fanatical lots of the south, but null and void everywhere else.
Totally divergent from Islam in jurisprudential ideology, the wakened touts of this extreme fanatical thought pin upon themselves an Islamic brooch and emblem to awaken ostensibility for their falsehood. Though the nuances, by differential acts, are created and could be told apart by aware Muslims and minds observing each of the nuance’s praxes.
However, the pain and confusion shrouding hence falsifying the true denotation and rightful perspectives of Shariah still remain as the ostensible, ill version— or perhaps an outright nihilism— our ignorant, fanatic brothers misrepresent as Shariah has neither a suffix nor a prefix, nor a different lexical annotation to tell its violent version apart in the lexicon, at least for the literary and semantic use of the Stone Age barbarism being touted as Shariah. And this has, to an extent the genuine advocates of Islam are finding difficult to curtail and disabuse, hallmarked bigotries against the faith and its faithfuls.
The nihilistic rush of some Muslim entities to accentuate a Shariah only synonymous and peculiar to the monstrosity mostly seen in the north and unknown even to Islam is a cause for urgent revisitation of the influences that established that version of Islam and misinform— so tersely— this perverse understanding of Shariah applauded by the equally sickened minds from the south. And perhaps further a probe to know which of these influences marred and upended the pristineness Islam arrived the north with.
The prongs of the prod of that revisitation should ransack even odd places for answers to the cause(s) of these very unislamic happenings, especially the version reprised in Bauchi yesterday.
The distortion or well-fledged ignorance of values the Shariah really represents is pervasive, and has been an egregious cancer upon the humanity. It metastasizes every day, so ridding it comes tougher year in year out, even though it’s not as tough as coming out to denounce its ostensibly Islamic gauntlets through which many very unislamic things are wreaked.
Telling fellow Muslims lost in giddily extreme delights and rave of fanaticism it is not just wrong but inhuman and very unislamic to mob lynch a blasphemer and that Nigeria is not a Shariah state makes one looks like an apostate or a closet one at the verge of announcing an open proselytization of faith. But that’s not punishing and unforgiving as reminding these dislusional bigots there is no term, however faint or negligible, in Islamic jurisprudence that okays or sets precedence for lynch nor a rapture that openly craves it!
And to moot to express the truth that, not even the damned ISIS would burn a blasphemer, is a red line; a decider for our aberrant Muslim brothers to snap all ties of brotherhood to bring in the one that mirrors disdain and hate towards us. But even in such hurtful hate, the truth is not pained. And so is the Islamically entrenched truth that: not even in a Shariah state will a blasphemer or even a despicable animal be lynched in such barbaric way as seen in Bauchi!
The applause of the festered fanatics of the south for the unbridled, deplorably emotional, ignorant legions of the north that violate human rights and disregard the teachings and laws of the very religion they think they kill for, are a head-pounding worry, a heartache that should keep the Ummah (the global Islamic community) awaken and grueling wide-eyed at night.
And these pangs remain until we tell— in the strongest of terms and fullest understanding and awareness— our aberrant brothers that their barbarism and nihilism as reasserted in the heart-rending murder of the Bauchi blasphemer is a self-help on personal will to feed their demons. And that, they haven’t killed him for Islam, they have only killed him on their own maddening, blood-baying terms. And that act, by many Islamic judicial stances evident in plain jurisprudential terms, puts them amongst the ones Allah despises the most— unless they repent and atone it!
The literarily nuanced but semantically displaced Shariah that supervised the lynch of the Bauchi blasphemer is unexampled in Islam! It is unrepresented! It’s unknown to all viable tafsirs of the faith’s teachings; it’s a self-made hostility devised to sate individual sanguinary craving, and to appease sectarian viciousness, sectional monstrosity and personal murderousness!
