Nation building is a structural process, a multi-dimensional concept in which people are galvanised to believe in a shared vision of a future, a future of prosperity in perpetuity. Such a task can only be undertaken by fine minds and not by a bull in a chinaware shop.
Conclusively, it is pertinent to mention that; in my privileged relationship with a couple of highly effective and accomplished personalities, like our own revered: Bishop David Oyedepo, Otunba Mike Adenuga, Prince Arthur Eze, Dr Deji Adeleke and Aliko Dangote, they have common traits, which is creative and critical thinking.
We have a proactive government and security forces when it is against innocent citizens demanding for their fundamental rights and responsive leadership, but a sleeping one when its banditry, insurgency, criminal herdsmen killings and other criminal issues.
Nigeria has the capacity to rise above mediocrity if we incorporate critical/creative thinking into our curriculum. A few private schools have taken the bull by the horns, but it is a far cry because most of these schools are in Abuja and Lagos.
But here, in this convulsing amalgam, we always talk about Nigeria like an abstract! As if the country exists alone or in a vacuum. It's as if Nigeria is god, some kind of deity that deserves daily obeisance, irrespective of its alarming shortcomings.
A life without challenge, a life without hardship, a life without purpose seems pointless. With challenge comes perseverance and gumption. With hardship comes resilience and resolve. The greatest challenge in life is establishing your moral compass, overcoming your story and mastering your mind and practice being resilient.
